Woman welcomes Muslim ‘refugee’ into home, gets raped

Refugees Welcome protesters in Germany.

Refugees Welcome protesters in Germany.

The rape crisis in Sweden and Germany continues unabated but news of the attacks sometimes doesn’t leak out for weeks, even months.

And sometimes the victims are those you would least expect.

Take the case of a 26-year-old Afghan man who last Thursday was sentenced to 30 months in prison for raping a 20-year-old woman who had let him live in her apartment. The sentence was given by the court in Cologne, Germany, reports Kölner Rundschau.

The migrant came to Germany two years ago, the local news outlet reports, and the contact with the woman came through the group “Refugees Welcome,” or “Flüchtlinge Wilkommen.”

The attack occurred Oct. 25, 2015, when the Afghan rapist sneaked into the 20-year-old woman’s room while she was sleeping.

The story sounds eerily similar to another out of Sweden earlier this month. A mother there, working with a welcoming group, decided to open her home to a male refugee from Eritrea. She made her daughter leave her room so she could offer the child’s room to the migrant. That migrant then decided to sexually assault her 10-year-old daughter, the Daily Caller reported.

In fact, Muslim migrants raping those trying to help them is not that unusual.

A 24-year-old spokeswoman for the socialist “Linksjugend Solid” (“Left Youth Solid”), identified only as “Selin G.” was attacked and gang-raped in a parking lot in February. She reported the crime but two weeks later in a fit of guilt said she identified with her rapists as “victims” of German and Western culture, U.S. Herald reported.

The woman posted an apology on her Facebook page to the three men who raped her, blaming their actions on the “racist” atmosphere and “sexist society” in Germany, beginning the post with, “Dear male refugees, I am so sorry!”

A Norwegian man who is an activist in support of the anti-racist “Welcoming” cause was anally raped earlier this year by a Somali migrant and expressed guilt and remorse that the rapist had been deported back to Somalia. Karsten Nordal Hauken, a member of the Norwegian Socialist Left Party who described himself as an ardent “feminist and anti-racist” confessed to a documentary team about his despair at seeing the man deported, Breitbart reported.

The left’s ‘suicidal death wish’

Daniel Greenfield, a Shillman fellow at the David Horowitz Freedom Center, explored the leftist mentality toward rape at the hands of Muslim migrants in an interview with Jaimie Glazov last month titled “Avoiding Rape is White Privelege.” In that interview Greenfield said progressives believe it’s impossible for an “oppressed” class of people such as Muslims to commit rape against a white person. They are merely lashing out in violence against those they see as oppressing them.

For this reason many of the rapes of women volunteering as aid workers in the Palestinian territories and in refugee camps across Europe are never reported or quietly reported without media coverage.

Glazov calls it a “suicidal death wish of the left.”

“This reflects and manifests very much the whole narrative of fellow travelers, of leftists and communists, who are very willing to sacrifice others including themselves on the altar of utopian ideals,” Glazov said.

Pamela Geller’s field manual for stopping radical Islam is the
‘How-to’ book offering proven strategies to halt Shariah in the U.S.

Greenfield said the leftist activists will usually put their “anti-racist” agenda ahead of their feminist leanings. The feminists, in short, have to take a back seat to the anti-racists and anti-Islamophobes.

“They are very big on guilt and this is Stockholm syndrome in action as the entire left has an obsession with the idea that if a Muslim does something bad then something worst must have happened to the Muslim and therefore the really guilty party is not the rapist – the rapist was probably driven to it – the real guilty party is the privileged party, which is the white guy (or woman) who was raped because of his privilege and now he’s just acknowledging his privilege by feeling very guilty about it, which again is what the left does really well,” Greenfield said.

This exposes inherently racist mentality of the left, Greenfield said, because they are furthering a narrative that says the rapists possess no free will over their actions – they rape uncontrollably because they are from a certain country or background.

More sexual assaults reported in Germany over weekend

Meanwhile, at least 26 German women were sexually assaulted by Muslim migrants at a free concert Sunday in Germany in attacks the Daily Mail described as “similar to those carried out in Cologne over New Year’s Eve.”

More than 500 German women were sexually assaulted on New Year’s Eve in Cologne and several other cities across Germany.

Three Pakistani men are already under arrest after 26 women filed complaints that they had been inappropriately touched, fondled and groped during the festival in the city of Darmstadt.

Police said the number of complainants could rise and at least two other migrant suspects are being sought.

All the female victims said they were “surrounded” before being “touched and fondled” at the Schlossgrabenfestes music festival.

The three men arrested were said to be between 28 and 31 and are Pakistani nationals seeking asylum in Germany.

Media reports said more women are expected to come forward to file criminal complaints after they were groped at the festival, a four-day event.

Sweden ‘transformed’ into Europe’s rape capital

In 1975, before Sweden began experimenting with a multicultural immigration policy, it was one of the safest countries in the world.

Sweden and Denmark now have the highest rates of sexual assault in the European Union, according to a study by the European Agency for Fundamental Rights. The findings were based on data from 2012 that was published in 2014.

Read more about Sweden’s rape crisis in WND’s recent report.

Read WND’s in-depth report on Muslim rape gangs operating in Britain, covered up by police, media and social workers for years.

Sweden, once a peaceful, low-crime welfare state, has come to be known as “Absurdistan” by critics of its extreme multicultural policies that ignore the economic and social interests of Swedes in favor of migrants.

Last year 163,000 asylum seekers came to Sweden and the prognosis is that between 70,000 and 140,000 will come this year, to a country with a total population of just 9.5 million. Germany has taken in many more Muslim migrants, more than 1 million over the last year, but its population is 80 million, so Sweden has actually transformed itself at a faster rate based on per capita population.

Swedish journalist Ingrid Carlqvist of the Gatestone Institute filed an insightful report on the country’s migrant situation recently.

“One of the things Swedes are most scared of is rape,” says Carlqvist.

Even though it’s illegal for police in Sweden to keep stats on the ethnic background, immigration status, or religion of criminals, Carlqvist says it’s the worst-kept secret in Sweden as to who is responsible for the near-1500 percent increase in rapes.

);

“Almost every day we can read in the alternative media about rapes of Swedish women and girls, committed by asylum seekers or other migrants from the Third World,” she said.

Up until a few decades ago, no one had ever hear of gang rape, she said. Now it happens every week.

“This has of course been going on for many years but the swedes have been so brainwashed by the government and the main-stream media that no one has protested about the rape on Sweden. But that has all changed. These days, no one can escape the horrible realities. Just a few of miles from here is a little village that used to have 900 inhabitants but last year the authorities placed 400 asylum seekers in that little village. That means that almost half of the total population is now people from Somalia, Eritrea, Afghanistan and Syria. It’s really turned the whole village upside down. I have talked to people who lived and work around there. At first, they were happy to welcome people to their part of the world. They arranged lunches and Christmas celebrations and donated clothing to the migrants. Now, many of the locals are afraid and confused. With tears in their eyes they tell me how their friendly village has been totally transformed by these young, aggressive, male asylum seekers. The asylum seekers scream at the locals, call the women whores, they steal from the shops, and don’t seem at all grateful or happy to be here. Many wonder what these asylum seekers expected when they arrived in Sweden.”

The Daily Svenska Dagbladet interviewed “Salar from Iraq,” who complained:

“We can’t sit here and wait for the decision on resident permits indefinitely… We sit at the asylum house al day long and do nothing. Our children have nothing to do, there is no playground there. And the food that is served here is strange, it doesn’t look like the kind of food we are used to.”

“The people here, they wonder if peace will ever come back to this place,” Carlqvist said.

Germans fleeing Germany?

The situation in Germany is getting so bad that some Germans are leaving in a rare case of “reverse migration.” According to Hungary Today, the number of Germans inquiring about emigrating to Hungary is on the rise.

Munich-based broadcaster Bayerische Rundfunk aired a report last week that documents an increasing number of Germans moving to the Lake Balaton area of Hungary, citing their dissatisfaction with the German government’s asylum policy and a fear of migrants.

The German reporter says Germans generally appreciate the good weather and low costs near Lake Balaton, as well as the presence of a relatively large German community. But recently they have also begun taking into account the fact that the vast majority of Hungarians are Christians and “there are hardly any migrants” in Hungary.

Hungary: The anti-E.U. European country

Hungarian Prime Minister Viktor Orban has been vilified by the establishment media for saying he wishes to keep Hungary a Christian nation.

Hungarian Prime Minister Viktor Orban has been vilified by the establishment media for saying he wishes to protect Europe from the invading migrants and preserve Hungary a Christian nation.

That’s because Hungary, led by no-nonsense Prime Minister Viktor Orban, is building a razorwire fence along its southern border with Croatia, Serbia and Romania, stopping the migrants in their tracks and infuriating the European Union’s globalist leaders. The globalists running the E.U. have roundly criticized him for “splitting Europe in two” and stopping the free flow of migrants into their continent.

Orban has said he wants to preserve Hungary’s Christian heritage and he will only accept Christian refugees from the Middle East.

Once the fence is completed, migrants will only be able to travel further into Europe by squeezing through a sliver of Slovenia to the West, or risking the trek through war-torn Ukraine to the East.

Hungary has also implemented a no-nonsense deportation system that allows it to boot illegal aliens from the country within hours, the U.K.’s Express reports.

Orban has also been pilloried by globalist publications in the U.S. including the New York Times and Foreign Policy magazine.

Top Hillary aide suffers memory loss in deposition

NEW YORK – Cheryl Mills, Hillary Clinton’s chief of staff during her four years as secretary of state, demonstrated a repeated inability to recall key information about her former boss’s private, unsecured email server in a deposition with Judicial Watch, according to a 270-page transcript released Tuesday.

Cheryl Mills

In testimony Friday that lasted seven hours, three attorneys representing Mills and four from the Justice Department interrupted Judicial Watch attorneys approximately 250 times, shouting “objection” to argue why Mills should not answer the question posed.

When Mills finally did answer, she responded “I don’t recall” 40 times and “I don’t know” to another 182 questions. Her testimony was characterized by pleading she was too busy, too stressed or not sufficiently expert to have appreciated the legal implications of Hillary Clinton’s decision to use two BlackBerry phones to conduct her official State Department correspondence via a personal server in her Chappaqua, New York, residence.

Get a first-hand account of the Democratic presidential front-runner’s character in “Hillary The Other Woman.” Then take action with the Hillary Clinton Investigative Justice Project and let others know, with a bumper sticker calling for “Hillary for prosecution, not president.”

Nevertheless, Mills confirmed that President Bill Clinton first established ClintonEmail.com on the private email server to communicate with his office staff, evidently while he was still president.

Rather than establish a separate private email server for Hillary Clinton after she became secretary of state, the Clintons decided simply to use ClintonEmail.com.

The testimony is part of a lawsuit by Judicial Watch related to Clinton’s use of a private server. Mills’ deposition is among seven of former Clinton top aides and State Department officials that the Washington watchdog has scheduled over the next four weeks

Memory lapses

Consider the following exchange in which Judicial Watch attorneys asked Mills if she had any discussions with Secretary Clinton prior to Clinton leaving the State Department about leaving the emails stored on her ClintonEmail.com account with the State Department so they would be available to her successor, John Kerry.

Mills: I don’t recall having those discussions. And, you know, I can only speak to what I can recall.

Judicial Watch Attorney: Okay.

Mills: And I don’t recall having those discussions.

Asked if she communicated with Clinton by email about the Benghazi attacks, Mills responded:

Mills: I may have, I don’t recall. Because in real time obviously her office is about, happily, or sadly, five to seven feet from mine. And so given the set of events that were happening in that time period, there was a lot of, obviously, direct communication.

As an immediate follow-up, Mills was asked, “Okay. Did you communicate with Ms. Abedin [Huma Abedin, Clinton’s deputy chief of staff at the State Department] about the Benghazi attacks via email?”

Mills responded:

Mills: I absolutely might have. I don’t have a recollection of doing that, but I might have.

Despite Mills’ obvious attempts to avoid answering direct questions asked by Judicial Watch attorneys, Tom Fitton, Judicial Watch president, told WND the deposition included valuable information that he estimated would be very important as the other Judicial Watch depositions in the Clinton email scandal develop.

“We now know more than we did prior to Mills’ testimony regarding the Clinton email system,” Fitton told WND, “but there remain many important questions yet to be answered.”

Server ‘preexisted’ secretary

The key question-and-answer session regarding the creation of Hillary Clinton’s private email account is on page 259 of the deposition transcript:

Judicial Watch Attorney: ClintonEmail.com. Do you understand whether that was on a server that Secretary Clinton set up or on a server that was set up by President Clinton?

Mills: The server preexisted Secretary Clinton’s arrival at the State Department. President Clinton had established a server for the purposes of his own staff office, and – and her – her email was subsequently put on that. That was not information I had contemporaneous knowledge of. It is information that I’ve come to learn over the course of my time period since then.

Then, on page 265 of the transcript, the line of questioning resumes.

Judicial Watch Attorney: How did you learn how the server – or who had – who had purchased the server?

Mills: So, I’m not sure how to answer your question. But maybe I should answer it what your goal – I don’t know what your goal is. But, in other words, the server was in place at the Clinton’s residence prior to Secretary Clinton becoming secretary. It subsequently was upgraded. And it was being used for the president’s personal staff, and the email was put on that server.

Fitton also stressed that Mills admitted knowing Brian Pagliano, the Clinton family technical assistant who was hired by the State Department to make Hillary Clinton’s private email operational and integrated into the State Department’s secure government server.

The fall of the American republic?

History has an uncanny knack for repeating itself.

You may have read the following quotation. You can tell from the way it is written it is not a contemporary statement written about America today. But, indulge me for a few moments, and see if it reminds you of some of the problems we are experiencing today in this country – and in many other parts of the Western world.

“I do not think that it was by arms that our ancestors made the republic great from being small. Had that been the case, the republic of our day would have been by far more flourishing than that of their times, for a number of our allies and citizens is far greater; and, besides, we possess a far greater abundance of armour and horses than they did. But it was other things than these that made them great, and we have none of them: industry at home, just government without, a mind free in deliberation, addicted neither to crime not to lust. Instead of these, we have luxury and avarice, poverty in the state, opulence among citizens; we laud riches, we follow laziness; there is no difference made between good and bad; all the rewards of virtue are got possession of by intrigue. And no wonder, when every individual consults only for his on good, when ye are slaves of pleasure at home, and, in public affairs, of money and favour, no wonder than an onslaught is made upon the unprotected people.”

Does that sound familiar?

It is attributed to Cato the Younger, circa 63 B.C., a statesman in the latter part of the Roman Empire.

I read this letter recently, and I was awestruck at how familiar it was – not just that I had read it before many times, but because, for the first time, it resonated with me in 2016 America.

Is America falling?

Is this the end?

Is it too late for us to recover?

Can a national election make any difference?

Or have our problems become much systemic?

Have we merely gotten the kind of government we deserve over the last 28 years?

Experience more of Joseph Farah’s no-nonsense truth-telling in his books, audio and video products, featured in the WND Superstore

I’m an optimist at heart.

I would like to believe this election can make a difference – at the very least slowing our descent into cultural suicide.

But then I examine the trends – the long-term trends. They are not encouraging.

While I look forward to pulling the levers for change in November, I can’t shake the idea that we need to do much more than elect new leaders to Washington.

We need a spiritual revolution, a “fundamental transformation,” a revival.

As a nation we no longer know the difference between good and evil – even though we once did.

Today, in America and throughout the Western world, men and women do what’s right in their own eyes.

For those familiar with the Bible, that was one of the recurring curses of Israel. When people lost faith and trust in God, they did what was right in their own eyes. Just look up that phrase and see how often you find it in your Old Testament.

That’s where America is today.

We worship and covet all the wrong things, just like Rome did in the younger Cato’s time.

There is a recipe in the Bible for avoiding judgment from God at times like this.

It speaks to me so profoundly. It’s not pie in the sky. It’s not a cliché. It’s simply a call directly from God to His people when their nation descends to this kind of morass.

You can find it in 2 Chronicles 7:14: “If my people, which are called by my name, shall humble themselves, and pray, and seek my face, and turn from their wicked ways; then will I hear from heaven, and will forgive their sin, and will heal their land.”

That’s what we must do as believers today. It’s time to humble ourselves, pray, seek God’s face and turn from our sin.

Do you follow that? God is speaking to His people. He’s not speaking generally to all people. He’s calling on His followers to do these things – humble ourselves, pray, seek His face and turn from our sin. That means you and me.

What will he do if we follow this directive?

If we, His people, do those four simple things, He promises to do three things in return:

  1. Hear our prayers. Could it be God is not even hearing our prayers because they are not being spoken in humility and desperation? Could it be we, too, are not earnestly seeking His face and not repenting of our own sin?
  2. Forgive our sin. We are all in sin – yes, even His people. That’s important to remember. We sin perpetually, without even thinking about it – and unrepentant sin is unforgiven sin.
  3. Heal our land. Cato probably didn’t have the advantage we have today – the written Word of God at our fingertips. He probably didn’t have the advantage of that history, those practical lessons and the divine teachings of the Hebrew scriptures. What’s our excuse?

Why Trump will win in November

Hillary Clinton had a bad week. Hey, let’s face it, she’s pretty much had a bad month, and it doesn’t look like the future bodes much better for her. The scathing report recently released by the inspector general at the State Department put her directly under a spotlight, and everyone could see clearly how she had lied and misled everyone about her private email server and her emails.

There was no mincing of words in the 83 page report, and it was clear that she had violated federal rules with her private server. Not only that, but the report clearly shows that ever since she was confronted about the emails and the server, she has lied about everything. The State Department never authorized her use of the server and specifically stated that they “did not – and would not – approve her exclusive reliance on a personal email account to conduct Department business.” How many times did she say that it was authorized and that everyone had done it before? Liar, liar, pantsuit on fire!

The Democrats have been relying on the fact that there was “no intent” for Hillary to hide anything, but that theory was shot down when a new undisclosed email surfaced in which she specifically stated that she needed this because she didn’t want anyone looking into her personal business and to avoid any FOIA requests. Hmm. I guess this whole thing was intentional. It goes on and on, but we all have known the truth since the beginning.

This is only one of the reasons that Donald Trump will most likely be the next president of the United States. You can see in the media that panic has now consumed the Democratic Party. They are scrambling to prop up a candidate that is stumbling and wheezing and can’t solidify the nomination even with a rigged system! Bernie Sanders continues to give her a run for her money and at 74 years of age shows a lot more stamina and enthusiasm for the job than she does. Here we are at the end of May, and she is still 70-plus delegates away from the win! Who would have thought that Trump would have sewn up the nomination before she did? Not me, that’s for sure.

Trump will win because he has passion, energy, and even with all of his faults and negative polling numbers, he is more likeable than Hillary. At least with Trump, people hopefully see a light at the end of this dark tunnel. His “Make America Great Again” slogan is going to continue to echo over and over again in the lead up to the election – and you can bet that “crooked Hillary” will resonate even more as the days go on.

She is a wounded and cornered candidate. Right now she is up against the ropes after being bludgeoned by the email scandal, the FBI criminal investigation and the yet to be revealed Clinton Foundation pay-for-play scandal. Bernie Sanders has pummeled her by continuing to win states and by pushing her further and further to the left when she knows that she can’t possibly win with that agenda. Yet, she has to appease his voters and try to win some of them over, or she has no hope of winning in November.

Morgan Brittany teams up with the other PolitiChicks in their first blockbuster, “What Women Really Want” — revealing the truth about the “War on Women”

The stars seem to be aligned for Trump because every time he makes a point that causes controversy something in the world validates him. The socialist message coming from Bernie and echoed by Hillary had cold water thrown on it last week when the news reports coming out of Venezuela were headlining the news. The crumbling of that country and the pain and distress of its people are all due to socialist policies – the same socialist policies Clinton and Sanders are touting as the foundation of their platform! How well is that working out? Trump’s direction for the country is the complete opposite of what Clinton or Sanders wants, and the American people are realizing it.

When November rolls around, if Hillary is still in the race and skates by an FBI indictment, she will be so beat up and damaged that no one except her most rabid base will think that she is the best choice for this country. She will have been branded as “crooked Hillary”; she will still not have anything to run on except the woman card; and by then she will look and be exhausted.

The enthusiasm will be gone for the Democrats because, let’s face it, without Bernie this whole primary cycle would have been a snore on their side. Trump will continue on with making headlines and outrageous claims, but that will generate more and more votes for him. Clinton really has to depend on the African-American turnout, the Hispanic and women voters because she sure as heck doesn’t have the white working middle class in her corner. After Bernie is gone, apathy will set in because she has nothing to generate any excitement. Young people probably won’t turn out. African-Americans won’t have the enthusiasm they had for Obama, and unless she really pushes the amnesty/open borders deal “in her first 100 days,” the Hispanics might just shrug this one off. She has lost the young women, and no matter how hard she tries to paint Trump as a woman-hating misogynist, it won’t work.

Trump has the advantage because the enthusiasm and anger is on the Republican side, and it is not dissipating. Just from the primary results we can see that Trump has broken records when it comes to getting people out to vote. He has a strategy to concentrate on blue states that are winnable, and he just might pull it off by appealing to the blue-collar, union workers who are fed up with the status quo. What does Hillary have to offer them? More of the same? I don’t think they will buy it.

Hillary and Bill are old, stale and out of date. They are about as appetizing as yesterday’s mashed potatoes. Plus, they are dishonest as the day is long. At least Trump is entertaining and isn’t constantly trying to cover his tracks with unending scandals. It’s true he is unpredictable – and one thing is for sure: If he wins, it certainly won’t be boring.

I believe that when November rolls around, the people will look at their choices and decide whether to continue with the current agenda and keep going down the same path, which leads us over a cliff, or take a leap of faith and realize that they have nothing to lose by giving Trump a chance. Given the choice to pull the lever for Trump or Clinton, I think they will decide to go for the outsider.

A nuclear world is a safer world!

A silent gong went off at some point in the mid-1960s. Although nobody heard it, its message was loud, clear and world changing. It was definitely the loudest noise nobody ever heard!

Europe had fallen into the habit of igniting “world wars” every few decades or so. There was the Franco-Prussian War of 1870, followed by World War I beginning in 1914, followed by World War II beginning in 1939. The “gong” that “sounded” squarely in the mid-1960s signaled the moment when the same period of time had elapsed from the end of World War I to the beginning of World War II as had elapsed since the end of World War II and the bang of that gong. History knocked on our stateroom door and announced it was time for another war. And guess what? No war! How come?

World War II had the distinction of being the only war in history to be ended by two atomic bombs, dropped in rapid succession on Japan. Infantry charges “over the top” of the trenches were the protein of war. Cannonades were commonplace. Then not just Japan but the entire world saw Hiroshima and Nagasaki. And the entire world, informally, without any official vote, decided it might be a good idea not to engender situations that would lead to more nuclear bombs falling, this time on who knows whom!

If you’re of liberal bent, I’d advise you stop reading here before your nervous and digestive systems suffer irreversible imbalance. If you’re a Common-Sense-Realist, you’ll join me in gratitude for the weapon that did more to foment peace and discourage war than any gaggle of diplomats ever to meet in the U.N.’s North Delegates’ Lounge for a drink, or any place else! The Cold War promised to get hotter rather than colder. And it ended without either of the world’s two superpowers nuking the other. Are you aware that Soviet ruler Nikita Khrushchev agreed – or rather rushed pell-mell – to remove Soviet nuclear-tipped missiles from Cuba because a sadistic maniac (quite literally!), Ché Guevara, who was known to have some influence over the Castro brothers in Cuba, begged the Soviets to nuke America’s heartland?

Guevara wrote to Khrushchev, in what reads like a far-from-the-top college humor magazine, that even though the Yankee imperialists would surely destroy Cuba completely, that was a small price to pay for the advancement of Communism! A furious and terrified Khrushchev demanded the immediate withdrawal of the Soviet missiles, yelling to his aides in Moscow, “Our Cuban allies are idiots!

A roll call of other dictatorial “idiots” who were bad enough to nuke their enemies but were restrained by far greater force than pleas, sermons and full-page ads in the New York Times includes Gadhafi, Idi Amin, Saddam Hussein, Arafat, Mao and many more. Fear, yes, but no blast since August of 1945.

Meanwhile the list of countries that have nuclear weapons enlarges. Do you remember in the early 1960s America, Britain and the Soviet Union did their best to keep France from getting the bomb, on grounds the French were “irresponsible”? This is the “gun control argument” magnified. A New Age editor of a trendy magazine squeezed a laugh out of me when she dismissively said she simply wouldn’t talk to people who haven’t had their medication yet! There’s something stylish in there somewhere. Likewise, I won’t argue gun control with people who can’t admit upfront that criminals will always find a way to get firearms. We can then go back and forth about “background checks” and “concealed carry permits,” but why waste my education on those who believe guns can be legislated out of bad hands?

And Ditto! with the atomic bomb. Given the number of countries that already have the nuclear bomb and those on the way (Iran!), add the inevitability of smart scientists and rogue dictators either now or soon or someday willing to sell another bad guy a bomb or the recipe, if the day hasn’t already arrived! You can depend that we will see that nuclear proliferation wins the war against nuclear control. And at that point all that civilization will have to preserve itself is the horror of the failure of nuclear restraint. The two countries figured most likely to nuke each other are India and Pakistan. Yet look how long both have been nuclear powers without nuclear misbehavior!

So why no nuclear attacks since 1945? After rocks, bows and arrows, crossbows, spears, muskets, rifles, machine guns – you get the drift – Gen. Leslie Groves’ team at Los Alamos finally came up with the weapon that makes its own use unthinkable. I read in one credible journal that a chemistry student in a good American high school could manufacture an A-bomb if he could get the needed fissionable material.

You may feel protected by Iran’s nuke deal with Obama. I take much more comfort knowing Israel has hundreds of them.

You may not yet be ready to join me in gratitude for the advent of the nuclear bomb. But after mankind’s many spectacular failures, can you open your mind, consider and even warm to the possibility that perhaps, just maybe, the nuclear bomb deserves the Nobel Peace Prize?

10 reasons atheism is out of step

The University of Miami has now announced an academic chair for the study of atheism. In another recent story, an atheist group is suing a sheriff because of his pro-God statements on his Facebook page (Constitution.com, May 19). No one can deny the rise of the shrill atheistic voices of our time.

But dare I say that the idea of state-sanctioned and in some cases state-mandated atheism is absolutely out of step with the traditions of America. Here are 10 reasons why:

  1. At the time of our founding, 99.8 percent of the population was professing Christians. Ben Franklin, himself a bit of a skeptic, said in 1794, when writing about America, “Atheism is unknown there, infidelity rare and secret; so that persons may live to a great age in that country without having their piety shocked by meeting with either an atheist or an infidel.”
  2. The Founding Fathers (not just the settlers, like the Pilgrims – whom even the ACLU will admit were Christians) hired chaplains to say prayers – virtually always in the name of Jesus – for the military and the legislature. The tradition of prayers at the opening of the legislature goes back even to 1619 when the Jamestown colony had the first congress of any kind in America.
  3. The symbol of America’s founding is the Liberty Bell. And as everyone should know, it has a Bible verse on it – “Proclaim liberty throughout the land and to all the inhabitants thereof” (Leviticus 25:10).
  4. The foundational education of the founders was Christian – even those who later may have lost their faith or some aspects of it. As Dr. Donald S. Lutz, author of “The Origins of American Constitutionalism,” once told me that they all knew the Bible “down to their fingertips.” To those who are biblically literate, you can easily see the influence.
  5. In addition to No. 4, all the colleges in North America were thoroughly Christian. Those who attended Harvard, for example, learned at an institution with the motto (in Latin) “Truth for Christ and His Church.” Only centuries later, did the Harvard trustees sever truth from Christ and His church. Madison learned his wise politics from the then-thoroughly Presbyterian College of New Jersey. We know it today as Princeton.
  6. Since 1956, our national motto continues to be “In God We Trust.” But sometimes you wouldn’t know that. It was suggested by Francis Scott Key, who wrote our National Anthem. The first verse, beginning with “Oh say, can you see,” is well-known. But note what he says in the fourth verse, which I wish we would sing more often:Blest with vict’ry and peace, may the Heavn’n-rescued land
Praise the Pow’r that hath made and preserved us a nation!
Then conquer we must, when our cause it is just,
And this be our motto, “In God is our trust!”
  7. Every state constitution mentioned God. Most of them still do. For example, here is the opening to the constitution for my home state: “We, the People of the State of Illinois – grateful to Almighty God for the civil, political and religious liberty which He has permitted us to enjoy and seeking His blessing upon our endeavors …”
  8. Since the days of Abraham Lincoln, drawing on the tradition of the Pilgrims, we have an annual holiday based on the concept of giving thanks to God. Washington was the first president to declare a day of Thanksgiving, on the suggestion of Congress – the same Congress that wrote the First Amendment – the words of which are sometimes twisted today to mean state-sanctioned atheism. Washington said in that Oct. 3, 1789, proclamation, “… it is the duty of all nations to acknowledge the providence of Almighty God, to obey His will.”
  9. God is mentioned in stone all over our nation’s capital. For instance, there are three Bible verses in his Second Inaugural Address chiseled at the Lincoln Memorial. If the atheists continue their jihad against God, would we have to sandblast the name of God off the monuments?
  10. The single biggest reason that state-sanctioned atheism is out of keeping with our American tradition comes from our national birth certificate. The Declaration of Independence says that our rights come from the Creator. Therefore, they are not up for grabs. In contrast, what the state gives, the state can remove.

Why are we getting to the place in society, where those who hold biblical views are marked out to be fired or discriminated against, if those views leak out in the public square? What is happening today is literally an exaltation of atheism over belief.

In America atheists are free to share their unbelief. Great. I just wish they would extend that freedom to the very traditions that extended that freedom to them in the first place – the Judeo-Christian heritage.

Is Target boycott affecting ‘Pride’ events?

As the month of June begins, it’s time to be aware of summer events you should avoid when accompanied by children, most notably the homosexual “pride” parades in major cities.

Corporate participation in these sexual anarchy “celebrations” has sadly increased in recent years through the energetic efforts of homosexual activists, without much pushback in response from conservatives.

But hold on just a minute there, corporate America. In April, a boycott of Target stores was launched by the American Family Association. So the question becomes, will Target be visible as a supporter of the summer’s upcoming “pride” weekends?

Target, as most of you know, decided to proudly parade its “inclusive” policy that welcomes men into female changing rooms and restrooms, hypocritically excluding the vast majority of authentic females – those of us who don’t want males in what should be private spaces.

But curiously, the embattled retailer’s name is not showing up on sponsorship pages for parade weekends in most cities, except for the Twin Cities Pride parade June 25-26 in Minneapolis/St. Paul, where Target is headquartered.

Target “team members” (employees) did march in previous pride parades in Los Angeles, New York and the Twin Cities.

Unlike Macy’s, Wells Fargo, Starbucks, Delta Airlines and Bud Light – ubiquitous depravity-event sponsors – the Target logo is scarce on “pride” sites this year.

Since the April launch of the boycott, AFA has collected over 1.3 million pledges, and Target stock has dropped from $83.50 when the boycott began to $68.90 (May 27).

The homosexual advocacy group GLAAD launched a counter-campaign, #StandWithTarget, urging people to visit Target stores on June 1 as “pride” month begins, to shop, take selfies and post on social media.

And in the “spinning low expectations” category, GLAAD also asked for pledge signatures. Unlike the seven-figure-and-rising AFA effort, GLAAD – the public relations voice for sodomy and transvestite demands – has managed to collect a mere 23,000 commitments, with a stated goal of only 25,000. And yet GLAAD’s pledge page states:

“Recently, Target has come under fire by a small – but loud – group of people who oppose its LGBT-inclusive policies. It’s time to come together to send a strong and clear message to Target.”

But really, whose group is “small but loud”?

Last week, GLAAD had only collected 20,000 pledges, and the stated pledge goal on this same site at that time was 22,000. So the goalpost is moving, a typical “create your own reality” moment from radical sexual bullies who lack widespread support in grass-roots America.

Another motive for GLAAD’s feeble campaign may be to provide a boost for Target before its annual shareholder meeting, but pro-family forces have goals for that meeting as well. Janet Porter, founder and head of Faith 2 Action, is spearheading a movement for Target store protests on Saturday, June 4 – again, to make a national statement prior to the Target shareholder meeting on June 8.

Target so far has responded that it has no intention of retracting its mixed-sex policy. And there are other evidences of the retailer’s support for the goals of radicals. On the Target website, the store markets rainbow-adorned apparel on a “Pride” page under the sales slogan “#takepride.” There are even sizes for children.

And the company’s commitment to homosexual-activist political goals has been evident in recent years in other ways. In 2012, Target backed same-sex faux “marriage” by selling “pride” T-shirts during June with 100 percent going to a homosexual group, Family Equality Council. That group was raising funds to help defeat the Minnesota pro-marriage amendment, a disappointing loss that occurred in November 2012.

And Target announced its support in September 2015 for the next big dream of sexual radicals: the federal “Equality Act,” which would add sexual orientation and gender identity as protected classes to the 1964 Civil Rights Code.

Thankfully, congressional Republicans are not signing on to this destructive, anti-family measure – except for Illinois’ Sen. Mark Kirk and Rep. Robert Dold – yet Target sided once again with the extreme agenda of the deviant minority.

Why? It’s a stupid business practice to back the homosexual/gender confusion movement. Once it becomes widely known, your company will suffer a sales decline.

The AFA boycott pledge numbers are being questioned by Think Progress, a far-left opinion site that claims to have entered three phony email addresses without any obstacle on the AFA boycott site.

Even if the Think Progress test actually happened as they say, it’s highly likely that the AFA numbers still hold up. There has never been any question about the organization’s integrity except from the extreme left, and Americans who have the good sense to oppose Target’s pro-deviance, anti-consumer stand are exactly the ones who have supported AFA all these years and are responding to the boycott.

There can be no doubt about the business impact of the boycott. The recent stock dip of Target was compared to Wal-Mart, Costco, Dollar Tree and Dollar General in an excellent article at American Thinker, and the comparison is stunning. Target’s market cap decline has been -19 percent, compared to Wal-Mart’s positive 1.4 percent performance in the same period (April 19 to May 24). Dollar General and Dollar Tree both posted gains of 7.6 percent.

So America, let’s be faithful to the boycott. If you think Wal-Mart is a worthwhile alternative, however, think again. They are regular sponsors now of many homosexual parades including Boston, New York City, Northwest Arkansas, Cincinnati, a “family area” at the Denver parade, Louisville ( Kentuckiana) and others.
